Research trip to Chicago

Very excited to announce that I have started working on a new documentary project, ADAM & IDA a film with and about a pair of Jewish twins. They had been separated in a ghetto in Poland, survived the holocaust in a camp and in hiding – and found each other again miraculously half a century later. Filming will start in spring.

German Geography Media Award

Two awards for BERLIN CLEANS!

German’s leading weekly paper DIE ZEIT has chosen my documentary SILICON VALLEY REVOLUTION to be included into their new knowledge canon. In the headline of this page one story it reads: “A cmodern canon of hundred masterpieces.” Well, perhaps this is slightly exaggerated but we are still very happy about this great honor.

They are the silent heroes of the big city and without them Berlin would suffocate in trash; the workers who clean our city toilets, streets, chimneys and sewers. The new rbb-documentary series BERLIN CLEANS! DIRTY TIMES (5x 45 minutes) is an homage to the many people in these jobs, who normally work in silence or at night in order to keep the city clean.

COLORFUL GERMANY now online

After the great preview of COLORFUL GERMANY (DIESES BUNTE DEUTSCHLAND) at the Babylon Cinema in Berlin, the TV broadcast is now also being shown online by ARD-Media. The German Press Agency claims, “A movie that takes its time which is how it should be. Since it’s about questions that cannot easily be answered like, the fate of the refugees in Germany which include so many facets that a short oversight would not suffice.”
