After the great preview of COLORFUL GERMANY (DIESES BUNTE DEUTSCHLAND) at the Babylon Cinema in Berlin, the TV broadcast is now also being shown online by ARD-Media. The German Press Agency claims, “A movie that takes its time which is how it should be. Since it’s about questions that cannot easily be answered like, the fate of the refugees in Germany which include so many facets that a short oversight would not suffice.”

Short list German Television Award
On 21, Feb 2017 | In General | By Jan Tenhaven
Today the program Make Love has been nominated for the German Television Award 2017 (Deutscher Fernsehpreis). For the production of the first season, I had been involved as a Director of Editing plus I did a tiny bit of development, but most of the honour goes to my fantastic colleagues Tristan Ferland Milewski (Director) and Christian Beetz (Producer) who worked very hard to make this fresh and innovative new format a success.
The press had been full of praise from the very beginning: “Truly good.” (DIE ZEIT), “Astonishing, not all awkward but authentic and informative” (Focus).

It was the perfect location to premiere my documentary about the cultural and political roots of personal computing: The legendary Castro Theatre in San Francisco. Hosted by the 21th Berlin & Beyond Film Festival, the cinema was packed with a very welcoming crowd of Castro locals, nerds from the Valley and computer pioneers.

It’s a wrap! Aerials completed
On 14, Jun 2015 | In General | By Jan Tenhaven
After a week in a helicopter (sorry for the noise my dear fellow citizens), the aerial scenes for BERLIN AND BRANDENBURG FROM ABOVE are complete. Thankfully we had outstanding weather so wonderful scenes were captured. Only this will be revealed: we will be showing a side of Berlin and Brandenburg that has rarely been seen, with astonishing scenes to marvel at. Many thanks to the Cineflight team and our cameraman, Florian Foest for safe flights and the great view.
